ASSMANN WSW components group moves to new head office

ASSMANN WSW components group head office is still located in Lüdenscheid within the industrial park "Am Freisenberg". Due to the growth of both groups within the last years, ASSMANN Electronic and ASSMANN WSW components, located in one building, the building capacity came to their limit. Due to this capacity issue, the shareholders of ASSMANN WSW components group made a final decision in that way, that the ASSMANN WSW group will look for a new location for their head office.

October 2011 the new location has been found. In the direct neighborhood of the former head office a new place could be found, which included a favorite high bay warehouse, logistical facilities and enough office capacity to be reconstructed in the way, as it has been requested by the management.

The new logistic and warehouse center offers space for around 1.300 pallets and more than 2.000 storage shelves within the high bay warehouse and the picking location. The warehouse is controlled by First-In / First Out procedure. By having this new location, ASSMANN WSW components have been enabled to double the warehouse capacity.

The reconstructed new office offers the capability to have a large training room, having over 40 seats and two modern customer meeting rooms. The move at year end 2011 has been finalised in a smooth way and already on the 2nd, January 2012 the first shipments left the new logistic area.

UL - certification for cables assembly

ASSMANN WSW components GmbH, system supplier for standard- and customized connectors, profiled heat sinks and wiring harnesses, has received UL - certification as manufacturer of wiring harnesses according to UL ( Underwriter Labratories ). 

ASSMANN WSW components GmbH is registered under File No. E340797 within the UL- certified manufacturer list. (www.ul.com)

This certification confirm, that the UL specific product requirements for wiring harnesses are fulfilled by our manufacturing plant in Slovakia and as well for the manufacturing plants in China. As an easy identification for our distributors and customers, UL - labels are stick onto the outer packaging, telling the customer,  that  these wiring harnesses have been manufactured under UL requirements.

The compliance of ASSMANN WSW components GmbH manufacturing locations with the UL - requirements will be controlled continuously at the manufacturing plants by UL inspectors.

By having this certification our distributors and customers do have the possibility to order wiring harnesses according to UL requirements, having approval for the shipment into US and / or Canada. This can be a wiring harnesses as a components for an end application manufactured in Europe for the US and or Canadian market or an trade product ship to and assembled into an end application within the US or Canadian market.

Your ASSMANN WSW components - Team

Since May 2009, when the extension of the high bay warehouse has been finalised, ASSMANN WSW components do have available additional stock capacities. The 7 floor high stock warehouse do have more than 5.000 palette places. Actually, around 3.800 different products are stocked in this warehouse. By up to 2.000 order lines, 200 Euro - palettes and 600 parcels to be dispatched every day, a maximum stock inventory of approx. € 8.500.000,- is turned around. The paperless warehouse management system, controlled by the centralized operation and control center, is feed with all needed information by multiple barcode scanners. Incoming goods to be stocked or outgoing products to be shipped will be handled by using the 2 fully automatic high bay warehouse lifts  and another 8 normal lifts. Every day, up to 4 sea freight containers are handled in this way. Based on this new warehouse, a stock turn around of 8,5 times is reached.
